"Beyond Rescue" Up-skilling and Multi-Tasking State Emergency Service Volunteers
The SES in South Australia has recently been awarded funding along with The Talent Bureau to provide fifty of our volunteers, the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment at no cost. The SES is pleased to be partnering with a state based registered training organisation The Talent Bureau for the provision of this training. This program aims to build the numbers of fully qualified trainers within the SES to enable us to continue to provide operational training to volunteers. The funding proposal was developed by The Talent Bureau in consultation with the SES and the SES Volunteers Association (SA) as part of the Productivity Places Program for Existing workers. Being awarded the funding for volunteers creates an important acknowledgement of the invaluable work that volunteers do and recognises that they should be rewarded for this work.
This training program has been designed specifically for SES Volunteers to ensure that the delivery and assessment will take into account your individual and unit needs. This is a flexible approach to training delivery providing volunteers with a choice of delivery mode and a supportive coaching program. This coaching program means a facilitator from The Talent Bureau will visit or call each participant every six weeks to assist them with their studies and provide any additional support required.
This training program is your opportunity to gain this recognised qualification and is open to all members regardless of the previous training experience. An expression of interest will be released soon and I encourage you to respond promptly as we anticipate a high level of interest in the program. This partnership with The Talent Bureau represents a fantastic opportunity for members and a way that you can be rewarded for your ongoing commitment to the SES as a volunteer.
All participants must be enrolled by 31st March 2010 and have until 31st March 2012 to complete their qualification.
